| The First Home Owners Grant
(FHOG) is a once off grant administered through the Victorian
State Revenue Office to offset the effects of the GST on home
ownership. Victorian State Home Loans are an approved facilitator
of this grant valued at $7,000 for established homes (previously
occupied) and $7,000 for new homes (previously unoccupied).
How to access the First Home
Owner's Grant
An application for
the FHOG is available through VSHL when you apply for a home
loan through our office. The benefit of making the FHOG application
through VSHL rather than the State Revenue Office is the earlier
availability of these funds. For the purchase of an existing
dwelling the payment ($7,000) will be available 5 days prior
to settlement or for the previously unoccupied residence ($7,000)
it will be available on the first progressive payment or for
an owner builder on the certificate of occupancy/completion.
